The Garden Project: Growing Vegetables at the Boys and Girls Club

At the BGC Cape Breton, a new project has been introduced to teach children about gardening. The staff educates kids on growing vegetables in their own garden, teaching them about healthy eating and fostering a sense of responsibility and appreciation for nature. The picture above are the first vegetables grown by our Club kids.

The Garden Project at the BGC Cape Breton not only provides hands-on experience of growing vegetables but also teaches children about the importance of healthy eating. By growing their own vegetables, kids become aware of where their food comes from and how it is grown. They learn about the nutritional value of different vegetables and the benefits of incorporating them into their diet. This knowledge empowers them to make healthier food choices and develop lifelong habits of eating nutritious meals.
