Thank you to outgoing board members

Four long serving board members ended their tenure on the board as of the AGM on June 14, 2021.

These board members had a combined experience of 25 years and will certainly be missed.

They're pictured below with their etched glass thank you gifts that they received as a token of appreciation from the staff and remaining board of BGCCB.

John Wolodka

John has been a member of the board since 2013 and President of BGC Cape Breton for the last number of years. He was born and raised just two short blocks from "The Club" and spent many summers attend Club programs as a child.

John is an insurance advisor at Tom Farr Insurance Services Ltd. | The Co-operators and prior to that spent many years working with youth in various volunteer and employment roles.

Stephen leblanc

Stephen has been the treasurer of the Boys and Girls Club for the past 7 years. He was born and raised in the pier and has worked for the local credit union for the past 20 years.

He is the father of 4 children who have all enjoyed the club at one time or another. Stephen is a strong believer in community and he and his wife have put on the clubs Christmas dinner for the past 5 years.

Pam Petrie

Pam is a former club parent, with all 3 of her now grown sons, having attended the club. She is an LPN working with Public Health and has been involved with the Club for the last 10 years.

Her major contributions to the club include many fundraising efforts; specifically co-hosting the annual Race For Kids fundraiser.

Suzanne gray

Suzanne is a mom of a special needs son; was born and raised in Whitney Pier, and graduated in 1988 from UCCB with a diploma in Executive Secretarial Sciences.

After spending 5 years working with Island Alternative Measures, she moved on to the Provincial Justice System in both Criminal and Family

Court and is presently a Maintenance Enforcement Officer.
