Community Support for Christmas Dinner

The members, staff, and board of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Cape Breton are so fortunate to have the support of amazing community members and organizations all year long, and certainly during the holiday season.

The tremendous support we received from our community for our annual Christmas dinner warms our heart.

Sydney Credit Union once again donated $500.00 toward our annual Christmas dinner for Club members. Pictured below is a representative from the Sydney Credit Union presenting the cheque to BGCCB ED Chester Borden.

A very generous "Mrs. Claus" and family once again donated gift bags full of goodies for each of our Christmas Dinner attendees.

Because of the generous support of Indigo Love of Reading Foundation, we were able to add a new book, suited to the individual reading level and taste of each member, to this years treat bags.

Indigo Love of Reading Foundation has partnered with Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada to promote literacy for children and support Canadian families by providing our Clubs with discounts and free shipping on kids and teen books.

Our dedicated volunteers helped serve our Christmas Dinner, and of course, club alum Riley Hollohan and Nick Young of 7by7 Restaurant cooked our delicious meal.

And finally, some of our friends from Squadron D of Cape Breton Regional Fire Service stopped by to help us decorate our Christmas tree and took up a collection among themselves to give us a very generous donation.

Thank you to all of our corporate and community supporters, we couldn't have run a successful Christmas dinner without you.
