Ways To Support
Please consider making a gift to the BGC Cape Breton (Formerly the Whitney Pier Youth Club). To achieve our mission we rely on support from all levels of government, corporations, foundations, and individuals.

We are asking for your support in order to make a positive difference in the lives of hundreds of children, youth and families in Whitney Pier/Sydney/CBRM.
​
$2,000 – provides sports equipment for our recreation program for 6 months
$1,000 – provides 50 kids with a snack for one month
$400 – provides membership for two children
$200 – provides one month's membership for one child

Friends of the BGCCB – Can’t come back? Give Back!
The Friends of the BGCCB is a program designed to raise funds to support the work of the Whitney Pier Youth Club.

Sponsorship will cost $120 per year and can be paid yearly or in 12 monthly installments of $10. This works out to approximately $0.33 per day. As a result, the program is affordable for many people. Tax receipts will be issued to all Friends.

Friends will receive a quarterly report highlighting the positive activities and detailing where their money is being spent. The quarterly report will also highlight a success story from the club. We will also give Friends a bumper sticker or fridge magnet identifying them as a friend of the club.

Click on donate. You will be directed to the Canada Helps website where you can fill in the details of your donation. Please specify that you wish to donate $10 per month and that you wish the club to receive your email so that you can get the quarterly report.

Note: You will be asked to set up an account with Canada Helps. You will have to do this in order to make monthly donations. If you wish to make a one-time donation or monthly donations of different amounts, you can do this as well.
Planned Giving
You can help children realize their dreams and potential by leaving a gift in your Will for BGC Cape Breton, (Whitney Pier Youth Club) donating a portion or all of your life insurance or giving shares in a publicly-traded company. You can leave a legacy that will benefit our children and youth for many years to come.

In Honour Gifts
What a great gift idea for the person who has everything, or is just really hard to shop for. Whatever the occasion you can make a gift in honour of a special someone for a special occasion. We will send an acknowledgment card in recognition of your gift and you will receive a tax receipt for a gift of over $10.

In Memoriam Gifts
Losing a loved one is always a very difficult time in a person’s life. To remember that special somebody you can make a difference in the life of a child. We will send an acknowledgment letter to the bereaved family informing them of your kind gift.

Host a Fundraising Event
Are you interested in having a little fun while raising money for a great cause? Hold a bake sale, a casual day, or a car wash and help support the programs offered at BGCCB. Our Director of Development, Patti McDonald will be sure to guide you through the process, and give you a few tips on how to get the most from your event.
