Chester began with the WPYC on May 1, 2005 and has worked with the youth of the local community for more than 30 years. Previously, Chester worked with the CBVRSB as a Student Support Worker, has a Diploma in Community Economic Development and is a graduate of the Holland College Child and Youth Care Program.
Ashley grew up in Whitney pier and is a former club kid. After volunteering to raise funds through many events for the BGCCB-WPYC, Ashley discovered her passion in fundraising and community involvement and was hired as fundraising coordinator.
Lauren Holloway is a 2019 graduate from Sydney Academy and a former club kid from the community of Whitney Pier. She was employed at the club during our 2019 Summer Program as a Youth Worker and is currently working part-time with our After School Program. Her future plan is to attend the Human Services Program at NSCC.
Laura is a grade 12 student and recipient of the 2018 WPYC Community Volunteer Service Award. She has previously worked during our summer program and is currently a part-time youth worker with our After School Program. Laura also coaches the Girls AA Basketball Team at WPM. Upon graduation, in June 2020 Laura plans to attend NSCC for Social Services.
Christina is a recent graduate of NSCC’s Early Childhood Education Diploma Program. She started working at the club after completing her five-week placement as a youth worker for our 2019 Summer Program and is currently with our After School Program.
Paula is a graduate of the Therapeutic Recreation Program at NSCC. She has previously worked with Schools Plus at both Greenfield and St. Ann’s Elementary Schools with their After School Programs. Paula is currently a part-time youth worker with our After School Program.
Riley Casagrande is a graduate of Riverview High School, and is now currently enrolled in a Community Support Worker program at CBBC. He started volunteering here at the club in November of 2018, and plans on working full-time after graduation.
Sheraton is in her first-year of the Practical Nursing Program at Nova Scotia Community College. She graduated from Sydney Academy with an Options and Opportunities (O2) certificate. She is a part-time employee at the WPYC and is a part of the Ancestral Roots Youth Council. She loves her family and her friends and meeting new people. Her favourite activity is Cheerleading with Cape Power Cheerleading.
Troy graduated from Cape Breton University with a Bachelor of Arts Community Studies degree with a major in Sport and Physical Activity Leadership. He is a full-time employee with the WPYC. He enjoys music and sports.
