Chester began with the WPYC on May 1, 2005 and has worked with the youth of the local community for more than 30 years. Previously, Chester worked with the CBVRSB as a Student Support Worker, has a Diploma in Community Economic Development and is a graduate of the Holland College Child and Youth Care Program.

Youth Worker

Margaret graduated from the Island Career Academy Child and Youth Worker Program. Margaret completed her work placement hours at the club and started working full time with the WPYC immediately following her graduation in September 2008. Margaret comes to us every day from Bras d’Or. Working with youth in the past Margaret has learned many things about the culture and diversity of the community of Whitney Pier.

Cody attended NSCC and graduated from the Therapeutic Recreation Program in 2017. He was raised in New Waterford and played basketball for many years.  Cody worked with the club this past summer and also volunteered throughout his studies at Marconi.  He became part of the full time club staff team in September 2018.

Katie is currently enrolled at Mt. Vincent University and is working towards completing her bachelor of arts in Child and youth study. Katie grew up in Ashby and has always had a desire to work with children and youth.

Jillian is completing her MA Education from MSVU. She holds a BSc Psychology from CBU and a BSc from Dal. She works part-time as an RA and has had the opportunity to work on several research projects. She is passionate about children’s rights education and providing opportunities for young people to voice their opinions in meaningful ways. Brittany received a diploma in Therapeutic Recreation from the Nova Scotia Community College Marconi Campus 2017. Brittany volunteered with Schools Plus and worked briefly with Autism Cape Breton.  She is from New Waterford where she raises her son who is two years old. Administration/Programs & Special Events Coordinator

Rayanne attended CBU BACS Program, she is a former Board Member and assisted with the Phase II Development (playground area) as well as Phase III (building expansion).  Rayanne has volunteered in many capacities within the CBRM  and was hired full time as Administrator/Special Events Coordinator at the club November 2016.
