Whitney Pier Youth Club expansion begins

The Cape Breton Post published this article on the start of the club's expansion project in May of 2015:

After three years of planning, there’s still some underlying anxiety about the project. Borden calls it a community build — where volunteers from the trades, parents of club members, and companies making in-kind contributions come together, using their skills and heart to build the expansion while limiting costs for the non-profit registered charity.

There are approximately 20 volunteers ready to help, he said. Local contractor Scott Mombourquette is helping to lead the expansion plans. So far a couple of businesses and community partners have come on board, as well as trades students from the Nova Scotia Community College Marconi campus and a number of labourers who are home from their jobs in Alberta.
