Fund Developer Job Posting, Full Time (Term)

​

Job Description:

​

The BGC Cape Breton is seeking an ambitious, self-motivated person to be their Fund Developer.

The Fund Developer will be responsible for all fundraising activities/events, compiling and maintaining a database and providing monthly reports to the Board of Directors as well as the Executive Director. They will also create and implement a series of fundraising policies and procedures and facilitate information sessions with community members. This position offers a competitive salary as well as benefits after a 3-month probation period.

Qualifications

​

Education and Experience Requirements:

​

  • Organizational and time-management skills

  • Marketing/Fundraising degree or equivalent experience

  • Experience: (2 years or more, knowledge of the non-profit sector)

​

 

Responsibilities:

​

  • Working Environment is a combination of required office hours and offsite meetings with community members.

  • Reports to Executive Director and Board of Directors monthly.

  • The Fund Developer will be responsible for compiling and maintaining a database of past, present, and future contributors to the BGC Cape Breton Club. The Fund Developer will provide monthly reports to the Board of Directors as well as the Executive Director showing their progress and future plans for the position.

  • The Fund Developer will work directly with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to create and implement a series of fundraising policies and procedures.

  • This position will also facilitate information sessions with community members such as council members, government officials, and local businesses about how they can contribute to the BGC Clubs of Cape Breton.

  • After a database and procedural operations are in place, the Fund Developer will work directly with the staff, Executive Director, and Operations Manager to take over the existing fundraising events as well as implementing new fundraising events. The Fund Developer will be responsible for writing grants, assisting staff with grant writing, and researching new grants that could assist with operational costs.

Additional Information

​

This position requires:

  • Valid driver’s license, own transportation

  • The ability to function both independently and collaboratively

  • A satisfactory Child Abuse Registry check and Police Check

​

Annual Salary (negotiable) for 40 hour per week and benefits to be negotiated.

​
